Baked Squash and Apples

Baked Squash and Apples is a delicious recipe for a fall and winter side. Total recipe time: (1 Hour-20 Minutes). Summary: Butternut squash and apples are peeled, sliced, covered with a sweet molasses-butter coating and oven-baked. This would be a great option for Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter or any large gatherings. 1/3 cup granulated no-calorie sweetener
1 tsp molasses
1/4 cup light butter
2 tbsp flour
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp ground mace
2 lbs butternut squash, peeled,
seeded, cut into 1/2″ slices

2 large cooking apples (such as Granny Smith or Jonathan),
cored, cut into 1/2″ slices


1. Preheat oven to 350º F. (175º C.)

2. In a medium bowl, stir together sweetener, molasses, butter, flour, salt and mace. Arrange squash in an ungreased 9″ x 13″ baking dish. Top with slices of apple, then sprinkle with sugar mixture. Cover with lid or aluminum foil.

3. Bake for 50 to 60 minutes or until squash is tender.
