Easy Apple Crisp

Easy Apple Crisp is a delicious, and quick to prepare recipe for a creamy and crisp dessert or treat. Fresh apples, oats. cinnamon, nutmeg, Cheddar cheese and vanilla pudding are the main ingredients all baked in the oven. It would be a good option for your holidays and/or special events and large gatherings. It is also a healthy, low calories, low fat, low cholesterol, low sodium, low sugars, low carbohydrates, heart-healthy, diabetic-friendly and Weight Watchers (4 SmartPoints), (3 PointsPlus) per serving recipe. INGREDIENTS:

Non-stick cooking spray
3 red cooking apples, sliced
3 green cooking apples, sliced
1 cup water
2 tbsp lemon juice
1 (1 oz) box fat-free, sugar-free
vanilla instant pudding mix

1 cup shredded 2% sharp Cheddar cheese
1/2 cup regular or quick-cooking oats
1/4 cup granulated no-calorie sweetener
2 tbsp soft margarine
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon (adjust to taste)
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg (adjust to taste)

DIRECTIONS:

1. Preheat oven to 350ยบ F.

2. Place apples in a large bowl. Add in water and lemon juice; toss to coat. Stir in dry pudding mix. Add cheese; mix lightly. Spoon into a 2 quart casserole sprayed with cooking spray; cover.

3. Bake 40 minutes or until apples are tender. Meanwhile, mix remaining ingredients until blended; sprinkle over apple mixture.

4. Return to oven and bake another 15 minutes or until topping is golden brown.

YIELD: 12 Servings.
