Healthy Peach-Crumble

Healthy Peach-Crumble is an easy and quick (50) minute recipe for a delicious and warm dessert. This recipe uses fresh peaches; spiced with cinnamon and nutmeg, sweetened with brown sugar. This is also a healthy, low calories, low fat, low cholesterol, low sodium, low sugars, low carbohydrates, heart-healthy, diabetic-friendly and Weight Watchers (4 PointsPlus), (5 SmartPoints) recipe. Prep Time: 20 Minutes.
Cooking Time: 30 Minutes.

INGREDIENTS:

Non-Stick cooking spray
8 ripe freestone peaches, peeled, pitted, sliced
3 Tbsp fresh-squeezed lemon juice
1/3 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
1/2 cup whole-wheat flour
1/4 cup packed dark brown sugar
2 Tbsp trans-fat-free margarine, cut in thin slices
1/4 cup quick-cooking oats, (uncooked)

DIRECTIONS:

1. Prehheat oven to 375 F.

2. Lightly coat a 9″ pie plate with cooking spray.

3. Arrange peach slices in the prepared pie plate. Sprinkle with lemon juice, cinnamon and nutmeg.

4. In a small bowl, whisk together flour and brown sugar. Using your fingers, crumble the margarine into the flour-sugar mixture. Add in the uncooked oats; stir to mix evenly. Sprinkle flour mixture on top of peaches.

5. Bake until peaches are soft and topping is brown, about 30 minutes. Cut into 8 equal-sized slices. Best served warm.
Cover loosely and refrigerate any leftovers.

Yield: 8 Servings.
Serving Size: 1/8 of recipe.
