Jalapeno-Crab Dip is an easy and delicious slow cooker recipe for a hot and spicy seafood appetizer. It is best used for large gatherings, game-day crowds and/or holidays. It takes only about (2) hours from start to finish. This can also be prepared (1) day in advance and heated up just before serving. Ingredients include: Fresh crabmeat, jalapeno peppers, siriacha sauce, cream cheese, sour cream, shredded cheese, onions and bell peppers. 2 tbsp butter
1/2 cup chopped onions
1/2 cup chopped red bell pepper
1 clove garlic, minced
1 (8 oz) bar cream cheese, softened
1 cup shredded Mexican blend cheese
1/2 cup sour cream
2 jalapeno peppers, seeded, chopped
1 tsp sriracha hot sauce
1/2 tsp Old Bay Seafood Seasoning
2 cup fresh crabmeat
2 Tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
Jalapeno pepper slices, for garnish
Pita chips for dipping, optional
1. In a medium-size skillet, heat butter over medium heat until melted. Add in the onions, bell pepper and garlic; cook about 5 minutes or until tender. Set aside.
2. Meanwhile, in a medium-size bowl combine cream cheese, shredded cheese, sour cream, the chopped jalapenos, hot sauce and Old Bay seasoning. Stir in crabmeat. Add onion mixture and stir until combined.
3. Transfer mixture to a 1-1/2 quart slow cooker. Cover and cook on LOW (1-1/2 to 2) hours or until bubbly. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. If desired, garnish with jalapeño pepper slices. Serve with pita chips if desired.
To Make 1 day Ahead
Prepare dip as directed up until cooking in slow cooker. Cover and refrigerate. Heat through in a slow cooker the next day and serve immediately.
